The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Professor Muhammad Ali Pateh has granted approval to the Malikiyya College of Nursing Services Bauchi, to commence training of General Nursing Programme and Midwifery programmes .
The approval came after the college met with the accreditation requirements.
Proprietor of the College Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Danmaliki said this today Monday in Bauchi when he spoke to newsmen He said The Approval.was conveyed to the Malikiyya College by the Registrer of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Faruk Umar Abubakar. Via a letter NMCN/SG/RO/GC/13/VOL.11/25".
"The letter said the college shall start with the Provisional of 100 students intake with effect from November 2024 for General Nursing while 100 students intake was also approved for Midwifery with effect from September 2024."
He said "The approval was granted to the college in pursuant in pursuant to Section 14 (Sub-section 182) of the Act 143. Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (2004) and directed the College to pay the approved establishment fee of Three Million, Two Hundred and Eighty-One Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Naira (N3, 281.250) only into the Nursing and Midwifery Council's TSA account through Remita platform."
Danmaliki said "The college now offer 20 accredited courses that included , Dental Surgery Technician (DST), Medical Laboratory Science (MLT), Community Health Extension Worker (Fresh), Community Health Extension Worker (RE-Trainee), Junior Community Health Extension Worker (Certificate), Health Information Management (HIM), Environmental Health Technician (EVT), Environmental Health Assistant (EHA), Health Education and Promotion (DHE) and X-Ray Technician"
He said other accredited courses offered by the college include ND Dental Therapy (JAMB), ND Dietetics and Nutrition (JAMB). ND Pharmacy Technology (JAMB). ND Health Information Management (JAMB) . ND Environment Health Technology (JAMB).
ND Community Health (JAMB). Public Health Technology. Epidemiology and Diseases Control. Diploma Basic Nursing and Diploma Basic Midwifery."
Proprietor said the college has graduated over 3000 students in both medical and environmental sciences who are working in various Hospitals in the State.
He said the college now has students from the southern and northern part of Nigeria and appeal to government and philanthropist to support the college by sponsoring more students as part of effort to fill the gap on inadequate man power in our Hospitals.
