The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has selected 300 youths in Jigawa State to acquire training in various skills.
According to Alh Hamza Mugs Hadejia, the state coordinator, the training program is designed to engage 93,731 unemployed youths across the country, with at least 10 persons selected from each of the 8,809 political wards.
The training focuses on animal production, including goat rearing, sheep, and cow breeding, as well as fish farming. Mechanical engineering training and graduate training for teaching in primary and secondary schools are also part of the program.
The coordinator noted that 80 persons with disabilities from the 27 local government areas of the state are among the beneficiaries.
After the training, beneficiaries will be resettled into productive entrepreneurial lives, while those who require further support will be linked with relevant institutions.
Additionally, 40,000 out of the 93,731 beneficiaries nationwide will receive training in ICT and digital skills to broaden their knowledge.
