Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has successfully reunited three stolen children from Bauchi State with their parents. The children, aged 3, 4, and 6, were stolen from Bauchi and sold in Anambra by unscrupulous individuals.
The governor commended the collaborative efforts of the Anambra State Governor, the Anambra State Police Command, and the Bauchi State Police Command, which led to the successful recovery of the abducted children.
Governor Mohammed expressed shock over the discovery that children were being abducted from Bauchi and trafficked to other states. He urged parents to remain vigilant and attentive to their children's well-being, emphasizing that it is a fundamental responsibility.
The governor pledged to take decisive legal action against the arrested suspects and assured that the Bauchi State government would take necessary legal steps to ensure they face the full consequences of the law.
In addition, Governor Mohammed announced plans to sponsor a bill to the State House of Assembly to ensure that details of all tenants are documented. He directed the State Attorney General to write an executive bill to that effect before sponsoring the bill.
The governor praised the security agencies, as well as the First Ladies of Bauchi and Anambra States, for their crucial roles in tackling child abduction and trafficking.
The parents of the abducted children expressed gratitude to the governor for his efforts in rescuing and returning their children. Bauchi First Lady Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed also commended Governor Mohammed for his unwavering support in combating child abuse, abduction, and trafficking.
