Bauchi Governor Salutes Military For Curtailing Insurgents, Bandits

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has commended the Nigerian military for significantly curtailing the activities of insurgents in the North East and putting bandits in the North West under pressure.

The governor, who was the Special Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer at the 2025 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Parade and Wreath Laying Ceremony, held at IBB Square, Bauchi, praised the military for their professionalism and sacrifices in keeping the country united.

He noted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria has successfully kept the unity of the country, hence the need to recognize their contributions and sacrifices. Governor Mohammed also gifted a 406 Peugeot Saloon to the State Chairman of the legion in Bauchi State to support their mobility and activities.

The governor's wife, Hajiya Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed, also donated drugs, food items, and wrappers to the families of widows of fallen heroes and men of the Nigerian legion at the 33 Artillery Brigade Medical Centre.

The event, which commenced on December 18, 2024, with the launching of the Remembrance Emblem, included a special Juma'at prayer, an interdenominational church service, and a free medical outreach for legionnaires and other guests.

The Commander, Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Maj Gen Mohammed Ahmed, urged well-meaning individuals and groups to support the families of fallen heroes, saying the event was not only to reflect on the losses but also to celebrate the unity of Nigeria.
