The Commissioner of Health, Bauchi State, Dr Sani Mohammad Dambam has reiterated the determination of his ministry to continue supporting and collaborating with relevant partners towards implementation of zero dose learning on polio in the state.
Dr Sani Dambam stated this over the weekend while receiving members of the Bauchi State Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) Community of Practice (CoP) in an Advocacy Visit to the Hon Commissioner.
He said the state government is always ready to provide all the necessary support to the relevant partners to provide health facilities and services to the good people of the State.
The Commissioner appreciated the COP members for the visit which according to him will cement the relationship between the ministry and the the group especially in promoting health related services.
Earlier speaking the coordinator of the advocacy visit Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa of the AHBN explained that the Bauchi State Focal Person led by Mr Jinjiri Garba the Co-Chair of the Community of Practice are in the ministry to solicit for their support.
While appreciating the support of the Directors in the Ministry, Dr Hassan Musa conveyed the warm regards and best wishes of Dr Aminu Magashi Garba the Coordinator/CEO of AHBN while looking forward to strengthen the existing relationship between AHBN and Bauchi State Government.
Recall that AHBN has developed an Accountability Framework and Immunization Financing Scorecard for the State in addition to supporting the participation local NGOs and CSOs in supportive supervision and other immunization activities of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Board.
The team requested the Management of the Ministry of Health to adopt the Accountability Framework and ensure sustainable budget tracking and accountability in managing Immunization finances.
He said they are in the ministry to intimate the Commissioner on the activities of the African Health Budget Network (AHBN) and African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) and how the consortium is implementing the Zero Dose Learning Hub in Ganjuwa amd Bauchi Local Government Areas of the State.
Earlier, Dr Habila Ismaila the AFENET State Lead also thanked the Commissioner for receiving the team and pledging his support in the implementation of Zero Dose Learning Hub in the State.
