Bauchi State Gov't Receives Air Conditioners From Nutrition International to Enhance Drug Storage

A Canadian funded Organisation, Nutrition International has donated six air conditioners to Bauchi State's health ministry to improve drug and medical consumable storage at key facilities in the state.

The donation includes two trolleys, four standing and two wall-fixed air conditioners, to be installed at the Central Medical Store in Bauchi and Zonal Wire House in Azare.

During the handover, State Coordinator, Nutrition International, Ms. Asabe Lekwot highlighted the need for enhanced storage conditions, identified during regular assessments of the facilities.

She assured that Nutrition International would take financial responsibility to aid smooth installation as part of its commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in Bauchi State state for better service delivery.

Ms. Lekwot emphasized that proper storage ensures drug efficacy and safety, demonstrating the organization’s dedication to supporting the state’s healthcare advancements.

Responding, Bauchi State's Health Commissioner Dr. Sani Mohammed expressed gratitude, noting that the improved storage conditions would aid Bauchi’s goal of achieving Pharma Grade standards.

Our correspondent reports that the collaboration reflects the two parties commitment to strengthening healthcare systems, ensuring quality medical supply storage, and advancing public health in Bauchi State.

The donation ceremony which took place at the Central Medical Store (CMS) in Bauchi metropolis, was also witnessed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Bauchi State Drug and Medical Consumables Management Agency (DMMA) Ahmed Abdulkadir, Programme Manager of IMPACT Project, Dr Adamu Muhammad and other Director from the state ministry of health.
