Dogara's Attack on Governor Bala Moh'd Misguided - Bauchi Speaker

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, has condemned the recent attack on Governor Bala Mohammed by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

Suleiman described Dogara's allegations as "verbose, baseless, and self-serving" and an attempt to tarnish the reputation of a leader committed to the progress of Bauchi State.

In a press statement signed by spokesperson of the speaker Mukhtar Garba Kobi, Suleiman said Governor Bala Mohammed is a statesman whose leadership transcends personal interest and political maneuvering.

He emphasized that the Governor's record of valuable services, grassroots appeal, and commitment to governance earned him the people's mandate, not backroom deals or personal favors.

The statement further said Suleiman dismissed Dogara's claims of betrayal, describing them as a distortion of political realities. He also refuted Dogara's allegation that Governor Bala lacked financial capacity to run his 2018 campaign, stating that the Governor's success was built on collective support from the people.

The Speaker highlighted Governor Bala's achievements, including infrastructural development, healthcare improvements, and investment in education. "Bauchi has seen unprecedented transformation under his watch, and no amount of political mudslinging can erase that fact," he said.

Suleiman urged politicians to engage in constructive discourse rather than resorting to character assassination. He warned that Dogara's approach undermined meaningful governance conversations. "Politics should be about ideas, not personal attacks," he said.

In conclusion, Suleiman reaffirmed Governor Bala Mohammed's legacy as a leader dedicated to Bauchi's development. "No desperate attempt to rewrite history can overshadow his achievements. His work speaks louder than the words of his detractors."
