The Hon. Ibrahim Ali Usman Foundation has distributed 150,000 exercise books to pupils in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, in a bid to boost child education and support the community during challenging times.

Speaking yesterday with Journalists in Bauchi the Director-General of the foundation, Hon. Abdulkareem Buba Umar, said they have handover the books to the authorities of the beneficiary schools.

Hon. Abdulkareem Umar, during the presentation, recalled his previous announcement that a total of 1,050,000 exercise books would be distributed to pupils across various primary and secondary schools within Bauchi South Senatorial District.

According to him, the nitiative is part of the foundation's ongoing commitment to enhancing education in the Bauchi South.

Umar emphasised that the gesture aims to promote reading and learning among pupils and urged individuals to give back to society in whatever capacity they can.

He further stated that the foundation has constructed numerous boreholes in various communities throughout the district as part of its humanitarian efforts to ensure access to clean water.

In addition to its educational and water-related initiatives, the Ibrahim Ali Usman Foundation is actively assisting underprivileged members of society, providing health support to those in need, and helping people with disabilities.

The foundation also extends financial assistance to petty traders and artisans, enabling them to expand their economic activities, "This support reaches not only those in need in Bauchi South Senatorial District but also people across the entire state."

To foster physical health, unity, and a cordial relationship among the youth, the foundation has organised numerous sporting events across the seven local government areas in Bauchi South. These events, which include competitions for athletes with trophies to be won, are aimed at promoting sportsmanship and community engagement.

Hon. Abdulkareem Buba Umar also highlighted the recent Free Medical Outreach conducted by the foundation in the Magama Gari Community of Toro Local Government Area.

During the outreach, no fewer than 100 girls aged 9-14 were vaccinated against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). In addition to the vaccination, a sensitization campaign on the dangers of HPV was conducted, aiming to raise awareness about its impact on women's health.

The awareness campaign and vaccination program were sponsored by Ibrahim Ali Usman, the founder of the foundation, with the support of Alheri Y.S. Foundation and the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Board.

Umar explained that the foundation successfully administered all the HPV vaccine doses brought for the outreach. One dose of the vaccine costs N30,000, and before administration, a test is required to ensure its suitability for the individual.

Beyond the free medical services, the foundation has also drilled over 100 boreholes in Bauchi South, provided scholarships for youth and women, and continues to create opportunities for socio-economic empowerment across the zone.
