Gamawa Tasks UN Members on Global Energy Equity

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Investment, Muhammad Salis Gamawa has called on developed nations to increase investments in Africa’s renewable energy sector and to honor their commitments under the Paris Agreement to ensure clean, affordable, and sustainable energy for the continent.

He was speaking at the United Nations Simulation Conference in Paris, where representatives from 22 nations gathered to deliberate on global energy equity.

 Representing Africa on the world stage, Gamawa made a powerful case for developed nations to increase investments in Africa’s renewable energy sector and to honor their commitments under the Paris Agreement to ensure clean, affordable, and sustainable energy for the continent.

His speech, marked by strategic insight, policy depth, and a passionate defense of Africa’s energy future, resonated profoundly among global leaders and energy stakeholders.

The Commissioner underscored the urgent need for technology transfers, financial support, and capacity-building initiatives to bridge Africa’s energy gap and empower millions who still lack access to modern energy solutions.

In recognition of his outstanding leadership, diplomatic excellence, and commitment to Africa’s sustainable future, the Commissioner was honored with the Rare Award for Exceptional Leadership, a prestigious global accolade celebrating transformative leadership on the international stage.

 The recognition crowns him as an African Star, a testament to his ability to champion the continent’s interests with integrity, intellect, and unwavering dedication.

Receiving the award, Gamawa dedicated this milestone achievement to His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, citing the Governor’s visionary leadership, unwavering support, and commitment to excellence as the foundation for his success. 

He emphasized that the award is not just a personal achievement but a victory for Bauchi State, Nigeria, and Africa as a whole, reinforcing the continent’s rightful place in global energy discussions.

This rare honor marks a defining moment in Africa’s push for energy justice and sustainable development, with Gamawa’s advocacy setting a new standard for diplomatic engagement on behalf of the continent.
