KCI, Energy Commission Partner on Sustainable Energy Projects

The Khalid Community Initiative (KCI), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underserved communities, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) to drive transformative energy projects in Ningi Local Government Area and beyond.

The partnership, which was formalized at a meeting between KCI's Founder, Honorable Khalid Garba Barau Ningi, and the Director General/CEO of the Energy Commission, Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha, aims to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions to communities in need.

Dr. Mustapha outlined key initiatives to address energy needs, including the Mini-Grid Solar Power Project, Solar Streetlights, and Solar-Powered Boreholes. These projects, he explained, are designed to provide reliable and affordable energy to rural communities, thereby improving their quality of life and promoting economic development.

Honorable Khalid Garba Barau Ningi emphasized the pressing need for these projects, highlighting KCI's commitment to supporting less-privileged individuals and communities. He noted that energy access is pivotal in this effort, and the partnership signifies a major step forward in KCI's mission to improve the lives of those in need.

"Our foundation, KCI, is deeply committed to supporting less-privileged individuals and communities by addressing their most critical challenges," Honorable Khalid said. "Energy access is a fundamental aspect of this effort, and we are honored to partner with the Energy Commission to expand our efforts and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve."

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to deepen collaboration, ensuring the seamless execution of the proposed projects. Both parties expressed optimism that their collective efforts would transform lives and catalyze sustainable development in the region.

The partnership between KCI and the Energy Commission is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of communities in Ningi Local Government Area and beyond, providing them with access to reliable and affordable energy and promoting economic development and improved quality of life.
