The PDP Youth Support Group, Red Cap Movement of Nigeria, Bauchi State chapter, has officially called on Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, the current member representing Ganjuwa/Darazo in the House of Representatives, to contest for the Senate seat representing Bauchi Central in the 2027 general elections.
This call was made during a press conference held in Bauchi, where the group’s spokesman, Hassan Usman Lanzai, emphasized that the time has come for the youth in Bauchi to challenge the political status quo, under the banner of the "Not Too Young To Run" initiative. Lanzai highlighted the impressive record of achievements that Soro has accumulated during his tenure in the National Assembly, stating that he possesses the capacity and leadership qualities necessary for higher office.
"Hon. Mansur Manu Soro has shown great dedication to the development of his constituency, and his service in the House of Representatives has earned him the respect of the people. It is now time for him to take his leadership to the next level by contesting for the Senate seat for Bauchi Central," Lanzai said. "We believe Soro is the candidate who can bring about meaningful change and progress in Bauchi Central."
The group, which has been a strong voice for the youth in Bauchi, expressed its firm belief that young leaders like Soro are best suited to lead the charge for a new era in the state’s political landscape. According to the Red Cap Movement, Soro’s achievements as a legislator have proven that he is not only capable but ready to represent the aspirations of the people at the national level.
The spokesman also made it clear that the group is prepared to fully mobilize and campaign for Soro’s success if he accepts their call to run for the Senate. However, Lanzai issued a stern warning, stating that if Hon. Soro fails to respond to their call, the group will take legal action.
"We are fully committed to supporting Hon. Soro's candidacy, and we will mobilize every youth in Bauchi to ensure his success. However, if he chooses not to heed our call, we will not hesitate to take him to court to demand accountability," Lanzai stated.
The endorsement of Hon. Soro by the youth support group signals a growing movement in Bauchi, with young leaders seeking to reshape the political dynamics in the state. With the 2027 elections fast approaching, all eyes will be on Hon. Mansur Manu Soro to see if he will heed the call of the youth and make his bid for the Bauchi Central Senate seat.
