Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum, Bala Mohammed, joined Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in Osogbo on Thursday for the swearing-in ceremony of Osun State’s newly elected council chairmen. Governor Mohammed’s presence at the event demonstrated strong solidarity with Osun’s Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The swearing-in ceremony, which marked a significant moment in Osun’s local government administration, was attended by key PDP officials who have continued to demonstrate unwavering support for the Adeleke-led government.
In his remarks, Governor Makinde, who spoke on behalf of the PDP Governors' Forum, expressed deep concerns over attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilize the political environment in Osun.
He urged the APC to respect the rule of law, emphasizing that any grievances must be addressed through the judiciary rather than through unlawful means or violence. Makinde called on all political actors to prioritize peace and the stability of the state, warning against turning Osun into a battleground.
Governor Bala Mohammed, in his speech, further echoed the importance of upholding democratic processes and protecting the integrity of local governance. His presence in Osogbo underlined the PDP Governors’ collective commitment to supporting Governor Adeleke’s administration and ensuring good governance at all levels.
“As leaders of the PDP, we are united in our commitment to the rule of law and democratic principles. We stand with Governor Adeleke and the people of Osun in their pursuit of progress,” Governor Mohammed stated.
The event also marked a crucial moment in the ongoing efforts of the PDP Governors’ Forum to promote political stability and uphold the ideals of democracy across Nigeria. The forum remains focused on ensuring that good governance is delivered to citizens while protecting democratic values from any forces that may seek to undermine them.
Governor Adeleke, who thanked the PDP governors for their continued support, assured the people of Osun that his administration would prioritize development and maintain peace within the state.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new council chairmen symbolizes a new chapter in the local government administration of Osun, one marked by hope for the state’s continued growth and prosperity under the leadership of Governor Adeleke and the PDP.
The PDP Governors’ Forum, which includes several state leaders from the party, continues to make strides in fostering unity, peace, and sustainable governance across Nigeria, remaining resolute in its mission to protect democracy and uphold the rights of citizens.
