The governor made the statement during an expanded security meeting held in Bauchi, which was attended by the six Emirs of Bauchi State, heads of various security agencies, and other key stakeholders. The meeting focused on bolstering security measures across the state and finding collective solutions to ongoing challenges.

In his opening remarks, Governor Mohammed underscored the priority of securing the lives and properties of the citizens, stating that the security of the people remains the utmost responsibility of his administration. He noted that the role of security stakeholders, including local leaders and traditional institutions, is crucial in addressing the rising security concerns.

"I want my people to sleep with their two eyes closed," Governor Mohammed declared, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in securing the state.

The governor specifically commended the contributions of the heads of security agencies in Bauchi, acknowledging their efforts in safeguarding the state. He also called on the general public to continue to support the security forces by providing vital information on criminal activities, stressing that such community cooperation is essential to ensuring peace.

Governor Mohammed also lauded the successful partnership between his administration and the traditional institutions in the state. He reassured the gathering that the government would continue to work closely with all relevant stakeholders to improve the overall security situation and foster development.

However, Governor Mohammed urged all security agencies, traditional leaders, and citizens to stay vigilant and united in the fight against insecurity, ensuring that Bauchi State remains a safe place for all its residents.

The expanded security meeting is a step towards strengthening the state's security framework and building stronger community ties in the ongoing efforts to combat crime.
