The Nigeria Youth Assembly (NYA) honored Dr. Yakubu Adamu with the prestigious title of Patron in a ceremony that took place in Bauchi. The appointment, which marks a significant recognition of Dr. Adamu’s contributions to youth development and governance, was received on his behalf by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Shehu Adamu Gilas, who stood in for the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development of Bauchi.

The event, held in the presence of notable figures, was led by the Rt Hon Sani Danaudi, who headed the delegation from the Youth Assembly. During the ceremony, key issues related to youth involvement in politics, governance, and community development were discussed, with a strong emphasis on the importance of continuity in governance.

In his speech, the Youth Assembly expressed a vote of confidence in the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, commending his efforts to promote youth participation in the state’s development agenda. Furthermore, the Assembly extended similar praise to Dr. Yakubu Adamu for his enduring support to youth causes, highlighting his instrumental role in promoting good governance in the region.

Another major highlight of the event was the Assembly's announcement of a new bill currently being drafted for presentation to the Bauchi State House of Assembly. The bill, which seeks to ban the controversial practice of "Bola Jari," aims to curb the negative effects of this activity in the state.

The Youth Assembly expressed its commitment to working closely with lawmakers to ensure the bill’s passage into law as part of efforts to safeguard the welfare and future of the youth in Bauchi.

The honoring of Dr. Yakubu Adamu marks a milestone for the Nigeria Youth Assembly, which continues to advocate for a more active and constructive role for young people in shaping the future of the country through political participation, community leadership, and policy-making.
