The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commended the level of patriotism, good conduct and perseverance exhibited by corps members across the country.
The Director General of NYSC, Brig -Gen Yushau Ahmed made the commendation on Tuesday in Wailo, NYSC orientation camp, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi state during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch 'C' stream II orientation course.
Represented by Mrs Rifkatu Yakubu, the Bauchi state Coordinator of NYSC, Ahmed also appreciated the level of patience and maturity of the corps members during the three weeks orientation exercise.
According to him, by their show of discipline and tolerance, he was convinced that the three weeks stay on camp had not been in vain, believing that they would greatly impact maximally on their host communities during the service year.
“Gentlemen corps members, as you embark on the second phase of the service year, I enjoin you to continue to be obedient, loyal and diligent.
“Endeavour to settle down quickly when you get to your places of primary assignment and adapt to the ways of life there.
“Do your best to obey the rules governing your host communities and learn to appreciate their customs and culture.
“Ensure that you leave your host communities better than you will meet them through your community development projects,” he advised.
The D-G who appreciated the Bauchi state government for supporting the scheme in the state, enjoined the corps members to reciprocate the good gesture by contributing their best to the upliftment of their host communities.
He also appreciated all the collaborating agencies that sent their personnel to assist them in the running of the camp.
“I wish to register our appreciation to the Wailo Community for being our good host and neighbours over the years.
“Their efforts in meeting our needed casual labour demands eased much stress on the Corps members and officials,” said the D-G.
