The PDP Youth Contact and Mobilization Awareness Forum, under the leadership of Mr. Luka Mbami Lusa, has called on Barr. Umar Yusuf Gital, also known as Turaki Babba Dass, to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing the Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference, the group's spokesman emphasized that Barr. Gital is well-qualified and possessed the experience needed to represent the constituency effectively in the green chamber. His background, which includes serving as the Clerk of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, was highlighted as a key strength that would serve him well in the National Assembly.
"Barr. Umar Yusuf Gital has demonstrated a commitment to the development of our communities and the empowerment of the youth. His work as the Clerk in the Bauchi State House of Assembly and his ongoing contributions to the welfare of our people make him the ideal candidate to represent us in the House of Representatives," the spokesman said.
The group expressed dissatisfaction with the current representative, Hon. Jafar Leko, whom they described as a "total failure" due to his perceived lack of progress and poor performance during his tenure. They accused the APC lawmaker of biased representation, claiming that he has failed to deliver meaningful results for the constituency.
"We have seen little to no progress under the leadership of the current representative, Hon. Jafar Leko. His inability to bring about any significant changes or development has left the people of Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa disillusioned. It is time for a change, and Barr. Gital is the leader we need to move this constituency forward," the spokesman continued.
The group further pledged to mobilize voters and campaign vigorously for Barr. Gital's success in the upcoming election. They emphasized that leaders like Barr. Gital, who have demonstrated commitment and capacity, are the ones who truly deserve the mandate to represent the people of the federal constituency.
"We will not only support Barr. Umar Yusuf Gital with our words, but we will also mobilize and campaign tirelessly to ensure his victory in the 2027 election. It is time for new leadership that will prioritize the welfare and development of our people," the spokesman concluded.
As the political landscape in Bauchi continues to evolve, all eyes will be on Barr. Gital as he considers whether to heed the call of his supporters and vie for the House of Representatives seat in 2027. The PDP Youth Forum's endorsement could play a pivotal role in shaping the race for the constituency's future representation.
