In a statement that has stirred tension within Bauchi State, the Sayawa Youth For Development has strongly opposed any rally in support of Ishaku Komo's candidacy for the position of Gung Zaar under the anticipated Zaar Chiefdom. The group emphasized that such rallies would spell the end of the dream for the creation and actualization of Zaar Chiefdom, a project that has gained traction under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed.
The Sayawa Youth For Development urged the people of Zaarland to carefully consider the implications of supporting a single candidate, Ishaku Komo, for the position of Gung Zaar. According to them, it would be a grave mistake to support his candidacy as it goes against the procedures laid down by the Bauchi State Government for the establishment of the Zaar Chiefdom.
Governor Bala Mohammed, referred to by some as Kauran Bauchi, has been a pivotal figure in the Zaar people's struggle for their own chiefdom. The Governor has, despite many challenges, made significant strides toward fulfilling this long-held desire. His administration has pledged the creation of the Zaar Chiefdom, an effort that was initially met with skepticism by many Zaar citizens. However, under his leadership, the dream is now closer to reality, with the planned headquarters for the Zaar Chiefdom set to be located in Tafawa Balewa town.
Governor Mohammed has outlined clear procedures for anyone vying for the position of Gung Zaar, making it clear that all Zaar sons, including Ishaku Komo, must apply for the position in accordance with the established process. This process involves applying through the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, a requirement that Ishaku Komo has yet to fulfill, according to reports from the Sayawa Youth For Development.
The group further warned that any rally in support of Komo’s sole candidacy would undermine the efforts of the Governor and risk derailing the entire process of creating the Zaar Chiefdom. They argued that such rallies would not only discredit Governor Bala Mohammed’s genuine efforts but also create divisions within the Zaar community, jeopardizing the long-awaited recognition of Zaarland as an autonomous chiefdom.
The statement from Sayawa Youth For Development serves as a stark reminder of the delicate balance that exists between supporting individual aspirations and respecting the collective will for progress. The group implored Zaar citizens to rally behind Governor Bala Mohammed, who has made substantial sacrifices in ensuring the creation of the Zaar Chiefdom. They expressed concern that if the Zaar people turn against the Governor now, the dream of the Zaar Chiefdom could be lost forever.
The Sayawa Youth For Development called on all members of the Zaar community to carefully consider the consequences of their actions and to avoid becoming pawns in the hands of individuals who may have personal interests rather than the welfare of Zaarland at heart. The group stressed that any rally in support of Ishaku Komo would be seen as a betrayal of the collective dream for Zaar Chiefdom, an irreversible setback that could lead to further division and the erosion of any future possibilities.
The future of Zaarland hangs in the balance. It is now up to the people to decide whether they will continue to support the process set out by Governor Bala Mohammed or whether they will allow personal ambitions to stand in the way of their long-awaited goal of achieving Zaar Chiefdom.
The Sayawa Youth For Development concluded with a call for unity and careful deliberation, urging all Zaar sons and daughters to put aside personal interests for the greater good of the community. Only through collective support can the Zaar Chiefdom be realized, they asserted, and any rally supporting Ishaku Komo’s sole candidacy will only delay or destroy that dream.
