From: Lydia Zakka

In a remarkable step toward fostering economic development and creating sustainable job opportunities, 300 participants from Gada and Goronyo Federal Constituency have completed a transformative 5-day entrepreneurship and skills acquisition training focused on agriculture and livestock production.

The training, which aimed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in agricultural and livestock ventures, was a key initiative to empower local communities and promote self-reliance. The program covered a wide range of practical topics, including modern farming techniques, livestock management, and sustainable agricultural practices, all designed to equip the participants with the tools needed to thrive in the sector.

After the training, each participant was awarded a grant of ₦170,000, totaling ₦51,000,000. This seed capital is intended to help them kickstart their entrepreneurial ventures, allowing them to invest in their new skills and develop sustainable businesses in agriculture and livestock production.

“This initiative is a significant milestone in our efforts to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the Gada and Goronyo Federal Constituency,” said the project coordinator. “We believe that by providing these talented individuals with the right training and financial support, we are laying the foundation for long-term prosperity in our communities.”

The ₦51 million grant will catalyze the participants to begin their entrepreneurial journeys and contribute to the growth of the local economy. The project not only aims to alleviate unemployment but also to boost food security and improve the livelihoods of rural communities in the constituency.

As the participants embark on their entrepreneurial ventures, it is hoped that the ripple effects of this program will positively impact the broader community by creating jobs, improving agricultural output, and fostering economic resilience in the region.

Local leaders have expressed strong support for the initiative, commending the collaboration between various stakeholders in the success of the training. It is expected that similar programs will be rolled out in the future to continue empowering the youth and promoting sustainable economic growth.

This training program and grant initiative are just the beginning of a broader vision to uplift the people of Gada and Goronyo, equipping them with the resources and opportunities to succeed and drive meaningful change in their communities.
