ATBUTH Warns of Fraudulent Activities Impersonating CMD, Urges Public to be Vigilant


The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi has issued a public disclaimer alerting the general public to fraudulent activities perpetrated by individuals impersonating the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. Yusuf Bara Jibrin.

According to the hospital's Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi Koli, the scammers claim that the CMD is awarding contracts for the purchase of 200 HP laptops, purportedly approved by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. These individuals use the phone number 08167069701 to contact unsuspecting individuals via WhatsApp, phone calls, and SMS, attempting to deceive and defraud them.

Koli said the hospital management categorically states that no such procurement process has been initiated through unsolicited individual offers. All legitimate procurement activities at ATBUTH Bauchi follow due process and official procedures as stipulated by law.

The public is strongly advised to be vigilant and disregard any communication from such scammers. Anyone contacted with such fraudulent claims should report to the appropriate authorities immediately. The hospital management is collaborating with security agencies to track, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible.

In a statement signed by Usman Abdullahi Koli, ANIPR, Head of the Public Relations Unit, ATBU Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, the hospital reassured the public of its commitment to transparency and accountability in all its dealings.

The hospital management urged the public to report any suspicious activities or fraudulent claims to the relevant authorities, including the security agencies and the hospital's management.

By issuing this public disclaimer, ATBUTH Bauchi aims to protect the public from falling victim to these fraudulent activities and to maintain the integrity and transparency of its procurement processes.
