BICT DG Attends Launch of ICT Enhancement Tools for SMEs in Bauchi State

The Director-General of the Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy (BICT), Hayatudeen Babamaji, was present at the official launch of ICT Enhancement Tools organized by the Bauchi State Ministry for Cooperatives and SMEs. 

The event, which took place recently, was aimed at enhancing digital adoption and empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Bauchi State.

The launch was graced by notable figures, including the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, and various key stakeholders. 

The initiative underscores the commitment of the Bauchi State Government to harness technology for economic growth, particularly for small businesses.

In his keynote address, BICT’s Director-General, Hayatudeen Babamaji, shed light on the significant role of e-commerce in economic development. He discussed how digital platforms can expand market reach, improve business operations, and promote financial inclusion for SMEs. The DG emphasized that SMEs must embrace ICT tools to remain competitive in the increasingly digital global economy.

The launch of the ICT Enhancement Tools represents a major step towards digital transformation in Bauchi State. It is aligned with BICT’s strategic objectives to foster ecosystem development and empower entrepreneurs with the skills and tools necessary for success in the digital age.
