In a bid to enhance road safety and improve transportation management within the state, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has unveiled three operational vehicles for the Bauchi State Road Transport Agency (BAROTA).

The vehicles, which include a truck towing vehicle, a snatcher, and an ambulance, are expected to significantly improve the operations of the agency's newly employed cadets and marshals.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Governor Bala Mohammed commended BAROTA for its efforts in maintaining sanity on the state's roads, particularly along major streets.

He highlighted the importance of efficient traffic control and road management to ensure safety for commuters and ease congestion in the state’s urban centers.

The governor further emphasized that the creation of BAROTA was part of his administration’s broader vision to address transportation challenges and promote orderliness on the roads.

"The establishment of this agency is a testament to our commitment to maintaining a sense of discipline and structure within the state’s transportation system, especially on major streets and towns," he said.

Governor Mohammed also announced plans to employ additional personnel to strengthen the agency and improve its efficiency in maintaining road safety.

He noted that with adequate staffing and resources, BAROTA would be better equipped to handle the increasing demands of traffic regulation in the state.

Earlier in the event, the Director General of BAROTA, Air Commodore Ahmed Tijjani Baba Gamawa, expressed his gratitude to the governor for his continued support and substantial investment in the agency.

He assured that the vehicles would be effectively utilized in executing the agency’s mandate to ensure successful and smooth operations on the state's roads.

The operational vehicles are expected to contribute to enhanced road safety, quicker response times in emergencies, and overall improved transportation infrastructure in Bauchi State.

With this initiative, Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of the citizens, reaffirming its commitment to building a more organized and efficient transportation system in Bauchi.
