In a heartfelt gesture of support for his constituents during the holy month of Ramadan, Hon. Ibrahim Sani Tanko, the member of the House of Representatives for Shira/Giade Federal Constituency, has donated N110 million, 1000 bags of rice, 50 bags of sugar, and various women’s wrappers to assist in alleviating the economic burden of his people.
The generous donation, aimed at providing relief to the constituents during the Ramadan fasting period, was announced by Hon. Sani Tanko, a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), at a ceremony held in the constituency. In his address, the lawmaker emphasized the importance of solidarity and support within the community, particularly during times of fasting and reflection.
“We are all aware of the challenges faced by our people, particularly in this blessed month of Ramadan. It is my firm belief that no one should go hungry or suffer due to lack of basic necessities,” Tanko remarked. “This donation is a humble attempt to ease the difficulties faced by my people as they observe this holy month. I am committed to serving you and making sure that the welfare of my constituents remains a priority,” he added.
The N110 million donation is expected to provide direct financial relief to constituents, while the 1000 bags of rice, 50 bags of sugar, and various women’s wrappers will help to feed families and ensure that women in the community are supported during this period of spiritual devotion.
Residents of the Shira/Giade Federal Constituency expressed their appreciation for the timely gesture, noting that it would go a long way in reducing the hardship many of them face, especially those who depend on community support to make it through the month of Ramadan.
“This is an unprecedented act of kindness,” said Amina Bello, a community leader. “We have never had a representative who took such a personal interest in the welfare of the people during Ramadan. Hon. Sani Tanko has truly shown what it means to be a leader who cares.”
The distribution of the Ramadan packages has already begun, with beneficiaries in various localities of the constituency receiving their share. The donation has been lauded as a model of responsible and compassionate leadership during a critical time for many.
Hon. Ibrahim Sani Tanko's donation is seen not only as an act of charity but also as a testament to his dedication to improving the lives of his constituents in the Shira/Giade Federal Constituency. As the holy month of Ramadan continues, many hope that such acts of generosity will inspire others to give back to their communities in similar ways.
