Ramadan Relief: Governor Mufwang Supports Muslims in Plateau

From: Daure David

Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mufwang, has commenced the 2025 Ramadan fasting season with a significant gesture aimed at supporting the Muslim community in the state. In a bid to foster inclusivity, equity, and a sense of belonging, Governor Mufwang distributed Ramadan support packages to Muslims across the state.

The items, which include essential foodstuffs and cash, were provided to help ease the financial and logistical challenges many Muslims face during the holy month of Ramadan. The governor's efforts reflect his administration's commitment to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of religion or background, has access to support during key moments of the year.

In his remarks, Governor Mufwang emphasized that the gesture is in line with the core values of unity and equity that his government upholds. He expressed his commitment to building a Plateau State where all people, regardless of their faith, feel a deep sense of inclusion and security.

"Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity, and communal support. It is a season that brings together families, communities, and societies, fostering peace and unity. Our government is committed to ensuring that our Muslim brothers and sisters feel supported and valued during this sacred month," he said.

The Ramadan support packages are not just a demonstration of solidarity with the Muslim community, but also a tangible expression of the governor’s focus on the welfare of the people of Plateau State irrespective of religion or tribe. By addressing the basic needs of food and financial assistance, the gesture aims to lighten the burdens of fasting and to allow the recipients to focus on the spiritual significance of the month.

This initiative has been widely welcomed across the state, with many Muslim leaders and residents praising the governor’s timely and thoughtful gesture. “It is heartwarming to see a government that genuinely cares for the welfare of all its citizens, especially during important religious observances like Ramadan,” said Alhaji Musa Idris, a prominent member of the Plateau Muslim Community.

The Ramadan distribution effort is part of Governor Mufwang’s broader strategy to promote unity and peaceful coexistence within the diverse communities of Plateau State. His administration has consistently worked to ensure that every group feels heard, supported, and represented in the state's developmental programs.

As the 2025 Ramadan fasting season begins, Governor Mufwang’s distribution of support serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the power of solidarity and compassion in building a harmonious society.
