High-Profile Dignitaries Attend Wedding Fatiha, Turbaning Ceremony of Former Bauchi Gov. M. A.


Bauchi town came alive today as Vice President Kashim Shettima, Coordinating Minister of Health Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, Bauchi and Gombe State Governors, and other high-profile personalities attended the wedding Fatiha of the daughter of former Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar and his turbaning ceremony as First Makama Babba of the Bauchi Emirate.

The events, which were held at the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Dr. Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu Palace, were presided over by the Chief Imam of Bauchi Alhaji Bala Ahmad. Shettima stood in as the representative of the daughter of the former Governor, while Yusuf Yakubu Wanka Chigarin Bauchi stood in for the groom, Sadiq Mohammed Wanka.

After the wedding Fatiha, the Emir of Bauchi turbanned the former Governor as the First Makama Babba, presenting him with a turban and a black Alkyabba. The former Governor then rode on a beautifully decorated horse, adorned with traditional regalia, through the streets of Bauchi, acknowledging cheers from the public and spectators.

The Vice President, who arrived at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, was received by the State Deputy Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, and the Gombe State Governor, Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya.

The event was attended by several other high-profile dignitaries, including the Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, former Governor of Bauchi State Ahmadu Mu'azu, Deputy Governor of Yobe State, traditional rulers, and people from all walks of life.

The Emir's palace was filled to capacity as many dignitaries graced the occasion. Sadiq Mohammed Wanka tied the nuptial knot with Khadijatu Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar after paying a dowry of N300,000.

In his remarks, Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed expressed gratitude to Shettima, Pate, Gombe State Governor, and others for attending the wedding Fatiha and turbaning ceremony. He congratulated the former Governor on receiving the title of First Makama Babba, describing it as well-deserved recognition of his contributions to the state's development.
