Mrs Rifkatu Yakubu, the Bauchi state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi state has lauded Gov. Bala Mohammed for his unwavering support to the success of the scheme in the state.
Yakubu made the commendation on Friday at the state's permanent orientation camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state during the swearing in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ stream 1 corps members deployed to the state.
She expressed happiness over the complete renovation of the NYSC permanent orientation camp and the ongoing construction of additional structures in the camp.
“Let me use this opportunity to specially commend governor Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to the realization of the NYSC objectives in the state.
“There can be no better demonstration of commitment, love and fatherly care than what we are seeing in the camp now.
“It is clear for all to see that he is a great lover of the youths and particularly, the corps members.
“The management and corps members in Bauchi state, i wish to thank the governor for giving the NYSC a befitting camp in Bauchi state,” she said.
The state Coordinator assured the government and the people of the state that the corps members would continue to provide services where they were most needed especially, in the rural Areas.
She informed the corps members that the orientation course had been designed to equip them physically and mentally for the challenges ahead during and after the service year, urging them to participate actively in all camp activities.
Yakubu also explained that a total of 1,368 corps members comprising 604 males and 764 females had been successfully registered in the camp.
Speaking, governor Mohammed urged the corps members to take the nation's call to selfless service with utmost seriousness, saying that the future of the country rested on their shoulders.
Represented by Mr Adamu Babayo, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mohammed said “you have a crucial role to play in shaping our collective destiny. You must not misuse this unique opportunity and you must fulfill your responsibility to the nation.
“This orientation course marks the beginning of your journey towards greater achievements and future accomplishments.
“It is designed to familiarize you with the customs and traditions of your host communities”.
