Two Arrested for Abduction, Human Trafficking and Rape in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with abduction, human trafficking, and rape.

According to a press release issued to journalists by the Command's Public Relations Officer CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, one Rhoda Cosmos reported that her 19-year-old daughter, Cecelia Cosmos, was lured by Johnson John with promises of a job opportunity in Lagos State, but was instead taken to Burkina Faso for prostitution. 

Wakil said the police command swiftly acted on the report, and the suspect was apprehended.

In a separate incident, a 37-year-old man, Alex Amusu, was arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl in Tambari Housing Estate. The victim's aunt, Patience Danladi, reported the case after noticing unusual signs, and the police dispatched a detective team to arrest the suspect.

The suspects have confessed to the allegations, and investigations are ongoing. The cases will be escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department for advanced evidence gathering, and the defendants will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

According to the PPRO, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed thorough investigations into both cases to ensure justice is served.
